Nature isn’t polite when it reclaims itself
When I began working on From the Depths for the Earth re-birth exhibition, I knew I didn’t want to paint a gentle, passive version of renewal. Nature isn't polite when it reclaims itself—it’s powerful, chaotic, and beautifully violent. I wanted to create a piece you could feel just by looking at it.
This painting is my exploration of ecological resilience. I layered deep oceanic blues, vivid tourmaline greens, and sudden, shocking bursts of sulfuric yellow and coral to evoke an immersive, subterranean world. To me, it feels like looking at a coral reef or a volcanic landscape at the exact moment life decides to take over again.
